Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Colchester 2 Generation Pilot Project seeks to develop opportunities for low-income families to attain economic stability by providing parent coaching and system navigation that will offer access to quality learning for the children, pathways to work for the parent and related support services. To assist our learning, we will assess the individual needs of up to 30 families and provide solutions for those challenges through intensive family assistance. The solutions menu will include helping with transportation, flexible childcare and early education options, workforce training and/or post-secondary school, career planning, financial education, housing support, health care, and other needs specific to each family. As a result of our work with families, systems and policies will be reviewed to discover ways to reduce the organizational burden on families while aligning and linking system efforts in more effective and efficient ways. Recommendations for change will be created for local, regional, state, and federal systems. Services to be provided include: Recruit and encourage families to participate in the 2Gen Pilot ProjectEstablish positive and supportive relationships with families and partners3 Use a strengths-based approach to assess clients family needs in the areas of early childhood education, adult education, workforce development, housing, transportation, health-related, and other related support services Collaborate with families to guide them through the process of developing their Family Plan- a guiding document that will determine current status, plans for change, and track growth in the areas identified by families, that will support their journey to economic stability
