Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) is soliciting proposalsfrom qualified businesses (Respondents) for providing food and/or otherconvenience-store type services in the MAX bus station building that is scheduledto open on September 1, 2016. BJCTA is asking Respondents to provide abusiness proposal regarding its offering to provide food service and/or otherconvenience-store type services to the public at the MAX bus station.Scope of ServicesBJCTA desires to provide food, beverage, and/or convenience-store type itemsand services to riders of BJCTA and other buses or the nearby Amtrak station atthe Building B food area. BJCTA wants to make available both healthy andnutritious foods and beverages for their ridership, as well as, other useful productsthat BJCTA riders may find valuable to purchase on their way to their destination.Instead of prescribing these foods, drinks, and other products, BJCTA is openingthis solicitation to the creativity of Respondents to propose the most imaginativeand value-added ideas for providing food, beverages, and other useful products toBJCTA riders and others in close proximity to the Building B food area. BJCTAsanticipated bus station hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 6:00a.m. till 11:00 p.m. and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. till midnight. The Respondent willneed to propose an operation that considers these operating hours. BJCTAsprimary objectives are shown below and Respondent must address them in theirproposal including:1. Demonstrated Experience BJCTA wants a Respondent that has demonstratedexperience in developing, operating, and maintaining a value-added food,beverage, and/or convenience store operation before. BJCTA wants a businesspartner that can demonstrate that they understand the needs of transit riders andthe surrounding community and offers an approach that meets those needs.
