Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Food Service Department at Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is committed to providing high quality and nutritious meals to its 1,400 students. On a daily basis, breakfast is served to an average of 400 students and lunch is served to an average of 700 students. The Free and Reduced percentage is approximately 47%. The Farm to School program plays an integral part in serving meals. There is a strong emphasis on supporting local food producers by purchasing and serving their products to customers at all buildings. In turn, this helps to educate people on where their food comes from. Produce and food processed in the area are preferred. Maplewood Richmond Heights School District (MRHSD) invites bids for FOOD SERVICE ITEMS for the 2016-2017 school year, period beginning July 2016 and ending the close of the school year June 2017. Bids must be submitted on the attached forms, and sent to the attention of Irene Wan, District-Level Food Service Manager, 7539 Manchester Road, Maplewood, MO 63143, no later than 2:00 p.m. on May 6, 2016. This bid will follow the Request for Proposal procedure based on USDA Procurement Requirements. This is a fixed-price contract. Awards will be given when price, geographic preference and/or processed within the radius of the geographic preference, and sustainability are taken into account. Price will be the main determining factor (75 points), however, geographic preference is worth 15 points, processed food (food that has been cooked, heated, canned or has additives or fillers) within the radius of the geographic preference is worth 5 points, and sustainability methods are worth 5 points. One point equals a one cent decrease in bid price solely for the evaluation between bidders. This does not reflect a discount in actual pricing
