Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Section specifies the procurement, installation, testing, and certification of a 48-strandself-supporting outside plant fiber optic cable system, including all pole hardware, fiberdistribution panels, fiber terminations, and ancillary equipment for a complete and functionalinstallation. As shown on the Contract Drawings, and as required herein, the 48-strand fiberoptic cable shall be properly routed between, and terminated in the RiversideCommunications Shelter and a new Communication Bungalow provided under this contracton the MBTA Commuter Rail Worcester Main Line.B. The installation shall utilize an existing underground conduit from the RiversideCommunications Bungalow to the trough adjacent to the Green Line westbound track. TheContractor shall install a new conduit from the trough to the catenary pole as shown on theContract Drawings. From the trough, the fiber optic cable shall transition to the catenary polevia the new conduit, and run aerially west on existing catenary poles to the end of the GreenLine test track to the Worcester Main Line, where it shall terminate within the new bungalow.C. The Contractor shall provide and install a ten foot by twelve foot (10 x 12) bungalow asshown on the Contract drawings and described herein. The Contractor shall install threeunderground conduits from the existing bungalow to the new bungalow. One conduit shall befor power, one for communications, and one spare.D. The Contractor shall take into consideration that the round catenary poles on the test trackcannot support pre-tensioned messenger wire. These catenary poles have approximately 6foot embedment.E. The Contractor shall provide UV rated labels on the aerial portion of the fiber optic cableevery 100 feet.F. The Contractor shall field verify all distances, pole dimensions, fiber optic cable lengths,cable sag, and submit to the MBTA for approval before installing any hardware or fiber opticcable.
