Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Childrens Trust programs are developed based on the five Protective Factors which are the foundation of the Strengthening Families approach from the Center for the Study of Social Policy. Research demonstrates that protective factors are conditions in families and communities that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families. These key protective factors are parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need, and social and emotional competence of children. The Protective Factors are proven to aid in the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and provide the framework for developing strategies, program goals, and evaluation for all Childrens Trust funding initiatives. The group helps professionals enhance skills, learn new strategies for engaging fathers, and coordinate services across the state. In addition, the groups help raise greater public awareness of the important role that fathers play in the wellbeing of their families. FFN meetings are designed to provide individuals and organizations with:Training on information and skills to increase their comfort and competencies in reaching and serving men as parents,The opportunity for professional networking and,A venue for sharing resources and informationThe Childrens Trust seeks to award contracts to not-for-profit organizations that demonstrate a capacity to fulfill these goals. Organizations convening the Childrens Trusts Fathers and Family Network meetings must:Demonstrate capacity, skill, knowledge and insight into serving fathers and their families,Adhere to all program goals and expectations outlined in this RFR; such as convening network meetings, compliance with reporting requirements, and partnership with the Childrens Trust to maintain program fidelity.Conduct no fewer than six Fathers and Family Network meetings per contracting year.Demonstrate experience building local partnerships.
