Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Department is soliciting proposers to implement evidence-based home visiting programs as part of the Family Foundations Home Visiting Program, which is a joint effort between the Departments of Children and Families and Health Services. Family Foundations is a grantee of the federal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.Program ObjectivesUnder the MIECHV Program, home visiting funds are required to be directed to at-risk communities to serve high-risk/multiple risk families through the implementation of evidence-based home visiting services.Specific program objectives are the following:Improved maternal and child health;Reduction of child injuries, child abuse and neglect and child maltreatment, and emergency department visits for children and mothers;Improvement in school readiness and achievement;Reduction in domestic violence;Improvement in family economic self-sufficiency; andImprovements in the coordination and referral for other community resources and supports.Research, experience, and best practice would recommend that we prioritize home visiting funds for services to pregnant women as early in their pregnancies as possible in order to maximize positive impacts in the above areas. Therefore, FFHV maintains a requirement that at least 75 percent of families served by home visiting programs enroll
