Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:Work shall include all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to design and build a modularsteel girder bridge. The modular bridge shall meet or exceed the following parameters:Span: Bridge spans Length shall be 70-foot total span.Bridge Width: Bridge widths shall be 10-foot minimum inside guardrails or curb to curb.The modular bridge shall be designed in accordance with AASHTO Standard Specifications for HighwayBridges, latest edition and any subsequent interim specifications. Load Rating shall be HS-25.Include all hardware necessary to connect the modular bridge to the abutments.All structural members shall be A-588 weathering steel. All steel materials that may become in contactwith soil shall be coated with an appropriate corrosion-resistant system.Deck shall be 9 gauge galvanized steel with ability to accept a 3" gravel running surface.Curbs or Sidedams shall extend at least 6" above deck as supplied and shall be constructed of steel.Curbs/Sidedams are intended to keep gravel and surface runoff from entering stream.Endwalls shall be galvanized steel with reinforcement and extend at least 6 feet beyond edges of bridgeat the bottom and 3 feet at the top.The structure shall contain lifting elements such as temporary pins, eyes, or other mechanismsspecifically designed to facilitate unloading and placement.Flanges used for connecting the stringer units together shall be designed to facilitate field assembly. Allbolts used to facilitate field assembly shall be galvanized. All materials necessary for assembly shall beincluded with the structure.Workmanship, fabrication and shop connections will be in accordance with current edition of theAmerican Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Standard Specificationsfor Highway Bridges.The structural steel fabricating plant of origin shall be certified under the AISC Quality CertificationProgram. Certification categories shall include Simple and Major Steel Bridges. Mill certificates on allsteel shall be provided.STUD WELDED AND STIFFENER PLATE5/8 x 1-1/2 stud welded to beam flange at 10-0 o.c. starting at bridge end and ending at bridge end
