Specifications include, but are not limited to:Project scope: The scope of this project is for Contractor to provide all transportation, freight, tools,equipment, labor, supervision, permits, and necessary materials to prep and paint three separate outbuildings at the Oregon Department of Transportation Hermiston maintenance station located at 1840S. Hwy. 395 Hermiston Oregon. These three out buildings to be painted consist of:Landscaping building 80 x 35(average wall height = 14) Metal siding with metal O.H and man doors Small amount of exposed woodCold storage building 20 x 24(average wall height = 12) 1 metal man door and 1 metal O.H. door Wood T111 sidingSign shed 16 x 8(average wall height = 8) Pumice block walls with concrete roof Small amount of wood and steelSpecifications1. The contractor will be responsible for keeping the Project Manager informed of all activitythroughout the project. Project manager is identified as Travis Duby. Mr. Duby can be reachedat (541) 9631329 or by cell phone at (971) 5999473.2. The purpose of this project is: Prep and paint all exterior walls, doors, door jambs, and trim onthe three buildings listed above. Completed project must meet Project Managers approval priorto payment. The contractor will be responsible for the verification of all measurements andmaterials, required to complete this work.3. Contractor shall immediately notify the Project Manager of any damage done by the contractorto building system(s) or surrounding area.4. Damage done by the contractor to the building system(s) or surrounding area shall be repairedto at least as good condition as found prior to commencement of work5. Exterior Paint colors shall match other existing buildings. All colors must be preapproved by theproject manager prior to start of work.6. All materials and workmanship must pass the final inspection of the Project manager prior tothe issuance of payment.7. All areas to be painted shall be scraped, wire brushed, or pressure washed, removing all oil,dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material to ensure adequate paint adhesion. Allsteel surfaces to be painted shall be cleaned according to SSPCSP1 standards. Water isavailable near all three buildings. Notification of this procedure must be communicated to theProject Manager at least (2) days prior.8. Caulking and priming shall be applied where needed and necessary, and allowed to dry prior topriming and painting. All caulking shall be paintable, of a suitable type for the application, andapplied per manufacturers specifications.9. Paint shall be a waterborne acrylic exterior type suitable to the application, resistant to sunlight,fading, and for use in inclement weather on wood surfaces. Metal surfaces use Bond plex paint.The contractor is to apply two (2) coats of exterior paint. The contractor shall use the sameproject brand name for both coats, unless approved by the project manager. Paint containersnot displaying manufacturers product identification will not be acceptable. The paint color willbe the same for all walls. (grey)The paint color for O.H. doors and man doors will be white.Paint color shall be approved by the project manager or TMM onsite prior to use. Contractorshall provide one gallon of each color and/or different mix to the TMM at the completion ofthis project. These sealed containers must be fully marked.10. The contractor shall preform proper preparation and painting activities including power wash,use of clean etch, masking and various prepwork to result in best appearance and serviceabilityon all surfaces. All paint shall be applied with suitable brushes, rollers and/or airless sprayingequipment.Manufacturers requirements must be fallowed at all times, such as but not limitedto surface preparation, temperature, relative humidity and application. No overspray on roofing,windows, doors etc. will be permitted . Insure of no or minimal wind on painting days. Insure allstate and private vehicles are moved out of the immediate areas before spraying. ODOT plans to install a rubber membrane single ply roof on the Sign Shed building next summer.Contractor shall prep and paint pumice block walls, soffit, fascia, and roof.12. It is expected that finished surfaces will be free of pealing fading and other defects undernormal weather conditions at the site for up to (2) years. Prior to final payment, the contractorshall provide the state with a written guarantee covering defects in materials and workmanshipfor a period of two (2) years from date of final acceptance. The contractor will be called backand shall repair, free of charge, any such areas that fail to preform during this warrantee period.13. The contractor shall clean up all work site debris, paint chips, masking, tape, etc. uponcompletion of work. Failure to do so allows the state to preform necessary clean up actions andbill the contractor for direct costs or to be deducted from final payment. All debris must bedisposed of at an approved disposal site, as defined by local, state or federal guidelines.
