Specifications include, but are not limited to:The purpose of the project is to study the effects that future sea level rise and storms will have on the RiversideDrive Corridor located between the Post Road to the north, Riverside Drive to the east, and South Benson Road tothe west. The study should focus on resiliency and mitigation efforts that can be implemented including hard andsoft structures that could potentially be constructed to reduce impacts from future coastal storms such as SuperstormSandy.The plan will focus on the four specific areas as outlined below:1. The plan will take into account all available information from Federal, State, and local sources and includecurrent events such as Storm Sandy and future conditions of sea level and coastal storms, which may not becontained in previous studies.2. The plan will outline the concepts, approaches and tools for building resilience and implementing specificadaptation actions to address topics such as protection from flooding, marsh and beach erosion, resourcepreservation, land use, etc. The plan will provide special focus on the assessment and advancement of advancenatural/green infrastructure opportunities, including, but not limited to environmentally-friendly beachstabilization, restoring dunes and wetlands, oyster reef creation/enhancement, improving the hydrology ofcoastal areas, improving/removing infrastructure and/or assisting local planning for major storms and futureconditions.
