Specifications include, but are not limited to:The addition of the new Engineering Building, primarily for the use of the Mechanical Engineering Department, will give UT Dallas the ability to accommodate expanding student enrollment, hire additional faculty, increase degree production, improve graduation rates, and increase externally funded research. In addition, it will also relieve space pressure on the Electrical Engineering Department, which has been severely constrained by the rapid growth of the Mechanical Engineering Department. The addition of a new Engineering Building will allow UT Dallas to graduate 120 Bachelor students, 75 Master students, and 20 PhD graduates annually. Additional space will be provided for offices, laboratories, and classrooms to accommodate enrollment of 1,250 additional students, 45 tenured/tenured track faculty, 10 senior lecturers, 550 research and teaching assistants, and 15 staff and technical support personnel. The building will contain approximately 200,000 GSF of new construction and will be located in the center of campus on the site currently occupied by the Alexander Clark Center. The demolition of the existing Clark Center building is currently not included in the project scope. However, demolition services may be contracted by the University directly or included as a Change Order to the project. The Preliminary Project Cost (PPC) for this project is $110,000,000. The PPC includes a Construction Managers Budget Limitation (CMBL) of $87,500,000. The Construction Cost Limitation (CCL) established for the Architect/Engineer is $83,000,000. Fees, furnishings, equipment, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies make up the balance of the PPC.2.4FACILITY PROGRAM: The Owner has approved and attached to this RFQ, a Draft Facility Program for the Project dated September 18, 2015. 2.5PROJECT PLANNING SCHEDULE: Key Project planning schedule milestones are: Owner receives Request For Qualifications Refer to Section 1.5 Owner conducts Pre-Submittal Conference Refer to Section 1.11 Owner issues Request For Proposals (to short-listed firms) 01/12/16 Owner receives Request For Proposal
