Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Inspection & report Within 30 business days (Monday Friday) of the effective date of thisContract, and annually thereafter, Contractor shall conduct, an evaluation of the performance of allescalators and elevators in the various county facilities covered by this Contract. Said performanceevaluations shall include, but not be limited to, car speed, door operations, riding quality, carleveling, floor to floor time, fire service testing, and system operation, including traffic handlingand response time on all systems. Performance shall be measured against the requirements set forthin section 1.02 below. Contractor shall schedule evaluations through the Countys project managerto accommodate building management. If the evaluations must occur before/after normal businesshours (8a.m. to 5 p.m.) no additional charges will be allowed. In connection with conducting theperformance evaluations, the Contractor shall perform all necessary adjustments, repairs orreplacements required to maintain operating standards within manufacturers specifications. Acopy of all performance evaluations conducted by the Contractor shall be provided to CountyProject Manager. Format to be used shall be the same used by the Cal/OSHA Elevator Unit of theDepartment of Industrial Relations https://www.dir.ca.gov/dosh/elevator.html.Contractor shall furnish all supplies, material, labor, labor supervision, tools, equipment andlubricants to provide full maintenance, adjustment, replacement and repair service for the completevertical transportation systems listed in Attachments B, and C.B. Contractor shall regularly and systematically examine, clean, lubricate and adjust the verticaltransportation equipment and provide emergency callback service during regular time hours, andas conditions warrant, repair and replace all portions of the vertical transportation equipmentincluded under this Contract with only the following exclusions:1. Repairs required because of intentional misuse of the equipment by anyone other than theContractor, his/her employees, subcontractors, servants or approved agents.2. Repair or replace building items, such as hoistway or machine room, walls and floors, carenclosures, car finish floor material, hoistway entrance frames, sills, signal fixture faceplates,smoke detectors, cleaning of car interiors and exposed portions of sills.3. Mainline and auxiliary disconnect switches, fuses and feeders to control panels.4. Escalators: Repair or replacement of wellway or machine room walls, exterior panels, skirtand deck panels, and balustrades.5. Underground hydraulic piping and cylinders.
