Specifications include, but are not limited to:Sumter School District is soliciting sealed bids from qualified, responsive and responsible bidders to service, inspect, andreplace as needed for the Districts kitchens fire suppression systems in strict accordance with the latest NFPA and SC StateStandard Fire Codes and Regulations, for the school cafeterias, and the Sumter Career and Technology Centers shops andclassrooms, in accordance with this specification and scope of work. The District has 26 school kitchens (each high schoolmay have one classroom each for culinary arts that may have a fire suppression system as well). The District has AnsulSystems and Pyrochem Systems. The District reserves the right to delete equipment, or work sites to the contract at anytime during the term of the contract.General Requirements/Specifications:1. Contractor shall inspect each kitchen including the classrooms at the high schools and Sumter Career andTechnology Center. Inspections shall include be twice a year (semi-annually) in accordance with themanufacturers recommendations.2. Maintenance shall only be performed by a direct employee of the successful bidder. The employee must haveproper training and received certification to perform the maintenance and recharging services reliably, and theemployee must have the applicable manufacturers listed installation and maintenance manual and servicebulletins.3. A written, detailed report compiled by the prospective bidder summarizing the fire suppression system inspectionsand/or replacement for each location us required. The report must explain any deficiencies and recommendcorrective action, if any, in accordance with the Codes stated above, for care and maintenance. A Districtemployee must sign the document to validate that the work was performed. A copy of the report must be attachedto the related invoice for payment. The prospective bidder must also replace old wet fire extinguishers in thesuppression system with new wet fire extinguishers, as needed, once approval is received from the Director ofMaintenance and Facilities or the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
