Specifications include, but are not limited to:The PR-135-DES detailed scope of work includes the replacement of power distributionequipment that has nearly reached the end of its useful life.The equipment assets proposed for replacement include the following: 8PR-135-DES RFP 4,160 Volt outdoor substation; one (older) medium voltage, 4,160-Volt, generator. The proposed new generator mustbe synchronized with the existing (newer) generator. The existing (newer) generatorwill not be replaced under this contract; one low voltage, 480-Volt, back-up generator; MCC-A, MCC-B, and MCC-C; one 4,160-Volt indoor distribution switchgear; batteries in battery room and trickle chargers; generator fuel tank. The tank must be designed to provide a two day storage capacityto run both 4,160 volt and 480 volt generators for two full days running at capacity.Modifications to the Power Generation/Distribution system include the following: structural modifications to build a second floor over the existing control room in theAdministration Building. This floor will be a new Electrical Room and will housenew MCC-A, new 4,160 Volt indoor switchgear, and new 480 Volt generator, and anew battery room; relocate the existing battery room, currently located in the basement of theAdministration building, to the new electrical room on second floor of theAdministration building; raise the elevation of MCC-K and MCC-L to provide flood protection; replace the current Main-Tie-Main with a Main-Tie-Tie-Main arrangement on MCCA,MCC-B and MCC-C, as well as the indoor switchgear; and connect the indoor distribution switchgear to the two 4,160 Volt standby generators.As part of NYC Wastewater Resiliency Plan, developed after Super Storm Sandy, allplant assets must be protected from flood damage. Currently, the back-up powergenerator, indoor switchgear, MCC-A, MCC-K and MCC-L are located below the criticalflood elevation putting them at risk of flooding. This RFP includes the relocation of theaforementioned assets.The general scope of work also includes an evaluation of NFPA 820 compliance tomaximize fire protection of the facility as practically and efficiently as possible.
