Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:The County is interested in identifying private sector parties that can support the DLCs fleet-related servicesfor configuration of the truck mix, sourcing, telematics, and/or alternative fuel powertrains, maintenance, leasing, and fueling. Responses to this REOI must include offerors methodology or project managementprocedures that will be used to effect solutions in SECTION 4: Offeror Qualifications.A. Delivery Fleet Configuration: The current fleet consists of 41-42 trucks, of which 24-28 make Mondayand Tuesday weekday deliveries and 33-34 make Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday weekdaydeliveries, and the balance of which are in the maintenance shop or otherwise unavailable foroperations. All of the trucks have conventional cabs (no cab-over and no cutaways). Trucks are Class 8straight trucks with either tandem rear axles and 20 22 long van bodies or single rear axle truckswith 16 long van bodies. There are no cargo vans, although there is a need for cargo vans for ad hocdeliveries at various times during the day. See APPENDIX B for a summary spreadsheet of the deliverytruck inventory as of September 2015.Truck bodies are dock height and loaded from the warehouse conveyor system. Cargo sits directly onthe floor of the truck, stacked to a height of six feet (no pallets) and, as the cargo volume declinesthroughout the day, side-to-side bracing is often done with bars to secure the load. Depending on thecustomer, cargo is unloaded by rolling the cases on a conveyor track or by hand-truck on a pull-outramp which extends from the dock height of the van body floor to the ground. Liftgates are rarely usedbecause cargo is not palletized, and there are often 400-500 cases per stop.
