Specifications include, but are not limited to:BACKGROUND The Events & Customer Outreach division is housed within the Marketing & Creative services group in the Communications & External Affairs department at Sound Transit. The mission of the Customer Outreach and Events division is to emphasize the customer through outreach and personal, proactive service that makes it easier for both current and potential customers to learn about and use Sound Transit. The goal is to go out to where the people are in order make transit less intimidating and confusing to people in our service district and, ultimately, to help build ST ridership. One aspect of that work is maintaining a consistent presence throughout the region by participating in key fairs and festivals in cities that have ST rail and/or bus service. This work is coordinated internally with other agency divisions that also participate in outreach at fairs/festivals, relating to safety, planning, construction and diversity. Since the Customer Outreach division was first formed in 2011, we have used a combination of in-house staff and consultant resources in order to maximize our presence in the three-county region and have flexibility in staffing weekend and evening events. Over the next three years, ST will continue this work. DESCRIPTION ST is seeking a consultant to help Customer Outreach staff plan and implement a fairs and festivals strategy, shaped by agency goals, in our three-county district. The principal focus will be on customer outreach (i.e. educating existing riders about any service changes and recruiting new riders to our services). The consultant will identify, manage and staff local festivals, representing Sound Transit, from spring 2016 to spring 2019. The total number of fairs will be determined during the planning period with input from the Customer Outreach division. In addition, the consultant may be used on an on-call basis to provide fairs and festivals staffing and support for other work units within ST during periods of peak demand.
