Specifications include, but are not limited to:Iowa State University is requesting bids for a contract order to provide custom farming operations on agriculture land which will be planted to the row crops corn and soybeans. The resulting contract will be renewable up to two additional years.Planting OperationCorn Acreage: 230 acresPlanting Date: Completion by May 20 weather and field conditions permitting.Soybean Acreage: 207 acresPlanting Date: Completion by May 30 weather and field conditions permitting.Corn and soybean crops shall be no-till or strip-till planted to meet conservation compliancein 30-inch row spacing. Note: Soybean row width may be narrower. Provide row width on Formof Bid.ISU will provide all seed and other inputs. The planter(s) should be able to plant plateless gradesof seed corn at a seeding rate of 29,000 to 32,000 plants per acre. Soybeans will be planted at arate of between 130,000 to 175,000 plants per acre. Corn and soybean planters shall be equippedwith a monitor. Seed must be removed from planter after planting operation is complete.Corn and Soybean Harvest OperationsCorn Acreage: 205 acresHarvest Date: Completion by November 15 weather and field conditions permitting.Soybean Acreage: 207 acresHarvest Date: Competition by November 1 weather and field conditions permitting.Corn harvesting is to be completed with a combine with at least a 6-row head which iscompatible to the row width and spacing of the planter. If soybean combine is equipped withrow-crop head, it must be compatible with row width and spacing of planter. Combining willinclude delivery and unloading of corn and/or soybeans at on-farm storage or a commercialelevator facility designated by Owner within 15 miles of the harvested field. ISU has on-farmstorage for 20,000 bu corn. ISU has no storage for soybeans. An auger with tractor and fuel willbe provided by ISU for filling on-farm storage. Combine must be equipped with a yield monitor.
