Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:Each compressor shall be serviced in accordance with The Texas Commission on Fire Protection, NFPA, and the manufacturers recommendations using manufacturer approved parts to include but not limited to: 6.1 Each compressor shall have the purification filters changed every 6 months or at any such time that the compressors air quality is suspected to be questionable. Each time the purification filter is replaced the service technician shall place a dated marking on the compressor and document it on the written report. 6.2 Each compressor shall have the intake filter removed and a new one installed every 12 months or at any such time the filter shows signs of contaminants or deterioration. Each time the intake filter is replaced the service technician shall place a dated marking on the compressor and document it on the written report. 6.3 Each compressor shall have lubrication oil changed every 12 months or at any such time the lubrication system of the compressor shows signs of contaminants or deterioration. For compressors equipped with an oil filter as part of the lubrication system the oil filter shall be replaced with each oil change. Only compressor oil approved for high pressure breathing air compressors shall be used. Each time the lubrication oil and filter is replaced the service technician shall place a dated marking on the compressor and document it on the written report. 6.4 An effort shall be made by the service provider to alternate the quarterly service schedule of each compressor to allow that each quarterly service does not create a situation where all the compressors need purification filters in the same quarter. Having all the compressor purification filters replaced and all compressors with BEFORE and AFTER samples in the same quarter would create a situation where the cost of that quarterly service would be excessively high and subsequently, the next quarterly service would be very low. By alternating some compressors in one quarter and others in the next quarter, the cost of the quarterly service can be more balanced and billing expense is more manageable for the fire department
