Specifications include, but are not limited to: Field Data Collection: Overview 3.1.1 Topographic and bathymetric survey data will be collected at each of the 397 beachfront survey monuments. The data will include cross-section profiles of the beach and near shore regions. 3.1.2. The profiles will begin at the survey monument, located on high ground landward of the primary dune, and extend offshore, such that the offshore portion is no less than 3,000 ft. The bathymetric portion of the transect will always be 3000 feet, while the land portion is variable. It is not more than 2500 feet, and typically between 500-700 feet. The cross-section profiles will be generally shore-perpendicular, with the specific azimuths and transects provided by SCDHEC - OCRM. 3.1.3. Beach survey monuments are typically spaced approximately 2,000 feet apart; however they can be as close as 500 feet or as far apart as 3,500 feet. They are in the following locations from north to south along the SC coast: Waties Island, North Myrtle Beach, Arcadian Shores, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Garden City, Huntington Beach State Park, Litchfield, Pawleys Island, Debidue, Dewees Island, Isle of Palms, Sullivans Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, Edisto Island, Harbor Island, Hunting Island, Fripp Island, Hilton Head, and Daufuskie. 3.1.4 Proposals should specify equipment and software to be used for data collection and what post processing steps will be taken to create the required deliverables. 3.1.5. Beach access varies across the state. SCDHEC OCRM will coordinate as needed with private beach communities to provide the contractor access. Due to groins and other impediments, vehicular access may not be available at all beaches.
