COLD WATER METERS

Specifications include, but are not limited to:2.1 The meter shall be for cold water metering.2.2 The meter shall be compatible with the existing Itron meter reading.2.3 The meter shall be certified for submerged use.2.4 The meter shall read in cubic feet of water used with accuracy better than +/- 1.5% over theoperating range of the meter. The Contractor shall provide a chart of accuracy vs flow over thedesign flow range for each size meter.2.5 The meter and dial, if separate, shall have serial numbers permanently applied in a visible location.2.6 The meter shall be used in homes with fire sprinklers; therefore, it shall meet the AWWA C714-13specification as a minimum.2.7 The meter shall be required to continue to deliver water to the system under a locked measuringelement condition.2.8 The meter shall have a visual reading panel on the meter. The dials shall be programed so that thecorrect billing digits are clearly displayed. The County bills per 100 cubic feet.2.9 If the maximum rated flow is exceeded, such as for a fire, no damage shall occur to the meter andreading accuracy shall return to normal after the event that caused the high flow is over.2.10 The meter shall be supplied with an Itron 100W+ERT plug and play connection.2.11 The meter/ERT combination shall be able to collect and transmit total flow through the meter.Minimally it shall provide:2.11.1 Flow data per hour over 45 days minimum.2.11.2 Tamper codes for dry meter, reversed flow and magnetic interference.2.11.3 Flow data should be to the 1/10 of a cubic foot.2.11.4 Continuous flow notification.2.12 A County technician shall have the capability to reprogram the meter dial for data logging and testpurposes.2.13 The meter, dial and battery shall have at least a 15 year warranty.2.14 The Contractor shall have a technical representative who can respond on-site within three days ofa request for support to the Bureau of Utilities site located at 8270 Old Montgomery Road,Columbia, Maryland 21045.2.15 The County desires that 5/8, and 1 meters shall have no moving parts (sometimes calledstatic meters). Sonic and Magmeters are acceptable types. For bid evaluation, technology thatuses moving parts requires the Contractor to submit documented performance, reliability, lifespanand warranty information of meters with the technical response.
