Specifications include, but are not limited to:A Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., Local Time. Vendors will meet at theEast Valley Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility (EVBOM) at 2050 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, Arizona,85281 for a meeting to discuss the RFP with City staff. The purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity forquestions and answers regarding the terms, conditions, and specifications of the RFP. Attendance at the conference is notmandatory, but is strongly encouraged.GENERALThe City of Tempe (City) Transit Division (Transit) maintains 400 bus stop passenger shelters. Transit has five (5)different passenger shelter types. Only two (2) shelter types, Type A and Type B, will be the focus of this contracts scopeof work. Currently all items awaiting refurbishment are located inside the Transit storage yard at the East Valley BusOperations and Maintenance facility, 2050 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, Arizona.Due to cosmetic blemishes and structural revisions to the vertical upright supports of both shelter types, Transit is lookingto have all shelter components currently in storage refurbished to mitigate any cosmetic blemishes and to add any missingcomponents so that Transit has a supply of passenger shelter components that meet current City of Tempe EngineeringStandard Details and are ready to install.All work shall be performed offsite from the Transit storage yard. All components to be refurbished must be picked upfrom the Transit storage yard within a period of five (5) consecutive business days between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Allrefurbished components shall be returned to the Transit storage yard over not more than five (5) consecutive business daysfrom 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Refurbished components shall be restacked in a manner that minimizes space used for storagewhile maintaining access aisles through the stored components similar to the current layout see attached aerial map Exhibit A. All completed refurbished components shall be stored off grade using a minimum 4-inch square wooddunnage. Similar components per shelter type, such as vertical uprights, can be stacked atop each other to a height not toexceed 36-inches above grade and shall be separated by a minimum 1- inch thick wood dunnage so that no metal-tometalcontact occurs between stored components.
