Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (hereinafter, Metro) is soliciting bidsfrom interested and qualified Offerors to provide vegetation and debris removal services for Metro'sCounty-wide bridge network and within Metro right-of-way. The intent is to award a 5-year contract forsaid services. All work to be in accordance with Metro Public Works Specifications and TDOT Specifications,latest edition. All traffic control devices shall be in accordance with MUTCD, latest edition. The selected contractor will provide vegetation removal including grass, brush and trees for withinMetro right-of-way as well as brush and tree removal from channels and streams. The work will include weed-eating, bush-hogging, clearing and grubbing, tree removal, large trashremoval, and debris removal. All work performed for this contract will be within Davidson County on Metropolitan Governmentof Nashville and Davidson County maintained roadways. Cost of performance and payment bonds will be considered as incidental to other items of work andno separate payment will be made to the Contractor for costs incurred for the performance andpayment bonds.Breakdown of Minimum Requirements All vegetation removal shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Standing vegetationshall be cut to a height of 4 inches while maintaining a consistent vegetation profile within allvegetation removal limits. Vegetation including small trees, shrubs and bushes with a stem diameterof up to 1 inch which are inside of and encroaching upon the established clearing limits shall be cutby the contractor using a mower or hand trimming methods as directed by the Engineer. Extremecare shall be taken not to damage the trees, plants and shrubs, which are designated by the Engineerto remain. Hand Trimming may be required as directed by the Engineer for areas of vegetationinside the designated limits not accessible to mechanical mowers. Hand trimming is required withinall rip rap areas, and around fixed objects, including but not limited to guardrails, cablerail, utilityinstallations, utility poles, mailboxes, delineators, sign posts, bridge abutments and bridge piers.The Contractor shall not apply chemicals, unless otherwise specified. Actual dimensions andvegetation removal limits shall be discussed in a preconstruction conference. Removal of Trash and Debris includes, but is not limited to, the removal of trees limbs, dead trees,loose debris, trash (including refrigerators, couches, tires, etc.) typically from streambeds or alongthe wingwalls of bridges. The trash and debris may be accessible by boom truck, but in many caseswill require manual removal due to limited access
