Specifications include, but are not limited to:1.1 Course requirements The vendor will develop a timed internet-based safe waterskiing course tailored for Connecticut to be accessible through the DEEPs site on the World Wide Web. The course will meet the approval of the Connecticut DEEP Boating Division. 1.2 Course Specifications- The student will be required to provide a Conservation ID# issued by Connecticuts Sportsmans Licensing database prior to taking the online class. This unique number will be utilized in conjunction with the students full name and D.O.B. (MM/DD) by the vendor to record and report the online class status (pass, fail, incomplete). a.The student must be able to take the education portion of the class free of charge, however a fee may be assessed to the student for taking the exam. b.During the registration process, students will be advised of the need to provide or obtain a Conservation ID# if they are seeking an endorsement. A link to the Sportsmans Licensing URL must be provided from the education portal to facilitate a student needing to acquire a Conservation ID#. c.The course must include video, slides and a minimum of 10 examination questions that utilize up to five core questions and randomly pull the remaining from a bank of questions, all supplied by DEEP. Exam results must be determined automatically, and students will be notified online of their scores instantly upon completion. Students over the age of 16 that successfully pass the exam will have the ability to print out their Temporary Waterskiing Endorsement upon successful completion. d.If the student passes the course, the vendor will report the passing grade, unique Conservation ID#, name and D.O.B. (MM/DD) to a DEEP designated secured FTP site. e.Upon successful completion of the exam, students must be advised of the requirement to visit the ACTIVE site to print out their boating certificate with Safe Waterskiing Endorsement and a link to the Sportsmans Licensing URL must be provided as well. f.If a student fails the exam, the student must restart the course from the beginning prior to retaking the exam. The vendor will report the failing grade, unique Conservation ID#, name and D.O.B. (MM/DD) to a DEEP designated secured FTP site. The student may retake the exam a second time at no additional cost. g.The Temporary Waterskiing Endorsement, titled Temporary Waterskiing Endorsement, must include, at a minimum: the students full name, Conservation ID#, date of successful exam completion, the DEEP logo and a statement that they successfully passed the safe waterskiing course and that the temporary endorsement is good for three days from the date of exam completion. Temporary Waterskiing Endorsements shall not be issued to students under age 16.
