Specifications include, but are not limited to:The vendor will provide complex-wide quarterly inspections, three (3) intermittent complex-wide inspections and detection of bed bugs by utilizing only trained and certified canine and handler teams to inspect the entire Maryland State Highway Administration Headquarter complex, 227,000 square feet, located at 707 North Calvert Street and 211 Madison Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202 (hereafter SHA and SHAHQ) for the presence of live bed bugs (Cimex lectalarius Linnacus), their eggs, or any previous activity. Certification and training organizations include but are not limited to the Integrated Bed Bug Management Association, the National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association and the World Detector Dog Organization. Said canine inspections shall be thorough, including all offices, cubicles, restrooms, hallways, mailroom, storage rooms, loading dock, garages, all open areas, etc.The inspections shall be conducted after 5:30 pm est (Eastern Standard Time) Monday thru Friday, or on weekends, as required by the SHA, to minimize interruption of work at SHAHQ. The SHA will insure that a minimal number of personnel are on-site, at the time of inspection, and that all inspection areas are accessible. The vendor will be responsible for maintaining total control of canines at all times.The inspection should be completed within a two (2) day time period. Inspection teams shall report their findings, immediately to designated SHA personnel followed by a written inspection report no later than 10:00 a.m. est., the following day, noting any and all areas of suspected infestation or bed bug activity. SHA is not obligated by this agreement to employ the vendor for any additional services or remediation work resulting from the vendors inspection report.All invoices should be submitted quarterly, and shall be paid quarterly.
