Specifications include, but are not limited to:The MVA is seeking to award back-up contracts for the existing Snow and Ice Removal Services for fourteen (14) MVA locations for the winter season. All work performed under this contract shall be performed as expeditiously as is consistent with professional skill and care and in an orderly manner as possible under adverse weather conditions. 3.1.2 Contractors must be capable of assembling, directing, and managing a work force that can complete the clearing and removal of snow and ice accumulation from the parking lot, driving course, access roads, sidewalks and pathways at specified Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) locations. 3.2 ContractorsResponsibili t y 3.2.1 Response Time (Glen Burnie HQ Location ONLY): 3.2.1.1 Upon regional AM/FM radio reports of an accumulation of two inches (2) of snow on the roadbed and parking lot surfaces (including the driver testing areas), or at the request of the MVA On-Site Supervisor or designee, Contractor shall immediately dispatch its crew and equipment to the MVA Headquarters facility in Glen Burnie, MD. In any case, Contractor shall have crew and equipment arrive at MVA Headquarters in not more or no later than one (1) hour f r o m M V A s n o t i f i c a t i o n . Contractor shall plow the snow into a pile at an MVA specified location. During heavy accumulation, snow may be pushed into piles outside the areas of operation if designated by the MVA On-Site Supervisor or designee. If weather conditions change and offsite snow removal is required, the contractor is solely responsible for disposal in an appropriate location which does not violate any Federal, State or local laws, regulations or ordinances. The MVA retains the sole right to make and change any such decisions. Failure of Contractor to respond upon request, or as otherwise agreed to by MVA, shall be considered a breach of contract and may result in the early termination of the contract as provided herein. The response time as indicated above supersedes No. 12 in the General Conditions for Maintenance Contracts, Attachment B
