Specifications include, but are not limited to:To meet the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Accreditation and external auditor standards, the Police Department is required to perform cash management audits of these divisions; Permits, Narcotics, Records, Firing Range and Fiscal Management. The contractor will perform the following services within the Police Department divisions where money is received from the public paying for a service provided by County employees. Auditor is to form an opinion, based on testing of individual transaction, as to processing accuracy and compliance with the policies and procedures established by the County. Auditor is to provide insight into internal controls used to plan for the future audits. Auditor is to address cash controls and whether county employees are observing practices that assure proper safeguarding of revenue received. Auditor is to audit the cash collections system and report findings. Auditor is to audit the financial transactions with customers and the collection of funds. Auditor will perform an unannounced visit to a division that processes a significant volume of checks, cash and credit card transactions. Auditor will count cash on hand reconcile amounts counted to cash register tapes or other recording transactions
