Specifications include, but are not limited to:MowingA.1.a. The contractor shall provide labor and equipment and include in the base bid the price for Fiftyfive(55) cuttings/area during the 33 week maintenance period. Mowing shall be a minimum of 2times per week, maximum of 3 times per week dictated by rate of growth. All litter to beremoved before mowing. Clipping removal only if accumulation interferes with play determinedby the Athletic Director. Note: Mowing may be reduced annually.A.1.b. Cutting height during the HS ball season shall be maintained at the following: Infield grass - 1 inches Outfield grass - 2 inchesA.1.c. Cutting height after HS ball season shall be maintained at the following: Infield grass - 2 inches Outfield grass - 3 inchesA.1.d. The direction of the mowing shall be rotated ninety degrees each time the fields are mowed.Alternate Cutting PE fields shall be maintained at the following: Height of 2 inches To include services A-A8 for area shown on drawingA.2 TrimmingThe contractor shall provide labor and equipment in the base bid the price to string trim aroundall fence lines, bleachers, backstops, buildings and all other obstacles within the cutting area for which the contractor is responsible. String trimming shall be performed 1 time per week for themowing season.A.3 IrrigationExperience with Syncroflo irrigation system preferred and shall include in the base bid thefollowing services with regard to irrigation: Spring start-up irrigation system on all areas. All heads and valves shall be inspected for leaks and contractor shall immediately notify andcorrect leaks within 48 hours. HVS will replace failed sprinkler heads and valves. Contractor to replace sprinkler heads broken or damaged by lawn equipment. Monitoring irrigation system to ensure proper watering of the fields (i.e. proper coverage) Adjustment of the control clock for correct timing Adjustment and calibration of sprinkler heads including cleaning valves for proper operation. Fall winterization (i.e. blowing of air out of system) repair of frozen and broken irrigationlines shall be the responsibility of the contractor beginning spring of 2016. If contract isawarded to new contractor, repairs of frozen and broken irrigation lines shall be theresponsibility of the contractor beginning spring of 2017.A.4 RepairsThe contractor shall level in the turf grass all areas (including but not limited to) of small washouts, dips,depressions, damage from player activity, etc., during the contract period. Maintain integrity of the lawnsurface by adding similar root zone. Seed used for damage repair shall adhere to the seed mix.A.5 Spring Clean-upThe contractor shall provide unit price for labor and equipment for cleaning up the fields atthe start of the season. These services will include the following: Mowing at a height of 1 inches to remove winter kill. Pick-up and remove any debris accumulated over the winter.A.6 Fall Clean-upThe contractor shall provide unit price for labor and equipment for cleaning up the fields atthe end of the season. These services will include the following: Leaf pick up and removal from the turf and site. Dormant seed areas of wear as necessary (to be verified by Districts representativebefore payment is made)Note: Fall fertilizer should be placed at this time. See fertilizer schedule.A.7 AerationContractor shall aerate 3- 4 deep with 5/8 tine, clean up debris and screed all playing fields 1 time per year in the fall.Note: Contractor is responsible to not hit sprinkler heads.A.8 Infield Area and Warning Track Maintenance JV, Varsity, Softball & Baseball fields The contractor shall rake all skinned areas on all fields 1 time per month and 2 times permonth in April and May. Edging shall be done by small equipment and shall not to affect original field dimensionsPE Fields - ALTERNATE The contractor shall rake all skinned areas on all fields 1 time per month Edging shall be done by small equipment and shall not affect original field dimensions
