Specifications include, but are not limited to:Prince George's County is currently involved in a College & Career Readiness and Innovation Programs (CCRIP) initiative. This initiative is driven by the goal that all students will be college-and/or career-ready. To accomplish this, all high schools will need to offer courses and programs that have a proven track record to college and career success. Specifically, this means the expansion of AP courses in all high schools, the inclusion of thriving IB programs balanced across the five geographic clusters, increased dual enrollment courses, increased partnerships with colleges and universities, and strong STEM programs balanced across five geographic clusters. Each high school will then develop a signature program that will reflect the vision of the school staff, students and community members. The signature programs will be career focused with pathways, CTE and programs such as World and Classical languages. DuVal High School was constructed in 1960 with a recent addition built in 2007 and will be part of the SSR Initiative, located in Cluster 1. It will include (4) Academies; Consumer Services, Hospitality & Tourism, Engineering & Science, Graphics Arts, Media & Communication, and Aerospace & Automotive Engineering. This request will include funding for the renovation of classroom 145 and two additions, one for 6,000 sq. ft. (Aviation Maintenance) and the other for 7,200 sq. ft. (Automotive Body Repair) for the Aerospace & Automotive Engineering Academy. See the attached floor plan for program and room locations. All four of the proposed academics have existing components in the school and all four academies can be accommodated within the old and new wings with the exception of the Automotive Repair and Body Repair. There are no spaces that can accommodate these functions and there does not appear to be expansion space to construct the shop space required for these programs. The existing ROTC program is hosed in rooms 142, 143, 144, 145, 146 and 147. This program is to be relocated to Bowie High School. These rooms will then be available for other uses at that time. In addition, the Child Development Program will be relocated to Bowie. The existing room will be reprogrammed
