Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Division of Family and Children Services investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help troubled families. The State Entity uses collection and laboratory services for alcohol and drug screenings to make informed and insightful decisions regarding the safety of children. D r u g u s e c a n i m p a c t a p a r e n t s ability to provide a safe and stable environment for their children. Alcohol and Drug Testing is one of the critical tools in determining appropriate actions and interventions for Georgia families. Currently the State Entity utilizes multiple contractors to provide alcohol/drug screening services throughout each DFCS regional area within the State of Georgia. However, in order to support more flexibility and complete coverage, the State Entity is seeking to identify multiple contractors to provide services to one or more defined DFCS regions within the State of Georgia. These areas include: North Georgia (DFCS Regions 1, 2, 3); Metro Area (DFCS Regions 4,13,14); Southeast Area (DFCS Regions 8 & 10); Southwest Area (DFCS Regions 9, 11, and 12) and Central Georgia (DFCS Regions 5, 6, 7
