Specifications include, but are not limited to:The City is located in the Central Valley in the southeastern corner of Yolo County, to the east of the coastal mountain range and San Francisco Bay Area, and 12 miles west of the state capital of Sacramento. The City of Davis water system has been completely metered since 1997. Meters are currently read and billed on a monthly basis. The Citys water meters need to be replaced due to the age and use of the existing meters. As part of this project the City of Davis will be replacing nearly all existing water meters serving City connections, and implementing a fixed network AMI system on all connections served by the City. The City of Davis provides water to 16,763 connections the residential and commercial customers having approximately 15,100 residential water meters and 1,300 commercial/industrial/institutional/landscape water meters over a 9.8 square mile area. Meters are generally located within front yards of residential connections, and behind walks in front of commercial connections. A map of the City is included as Attachment A. The meter population as of December 2015 consisted of 16,763 meters, ranging from 5/8-inch to 8-inch in size. The City recently replaced 32 meters, which will not be replaced as part of this project. Approximate meter locations are included in the Citys map book. A listing of meters by size to be replaced as part of this project is included in Attachment B. It is the intent of this RFP for the City of Davis to obtain proposals for the replacement and repair of water meters, and the installation and operation of an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system to serve all connections in the City. In 2015, the City installed Sensus endpoints and AMI equipment on water meters at City facilities. This equipment may stay in operation if 100 percent compatible with new equipment to be installed as part of this project. Otherwise, existing equipment shall be replaced with new equipment. The desire of the City is to have a single AMI system for all connections served by the City. The proposals shall include costs for the following equipment and services, as described in detail in this the RFP: Item 1. Project Management Item 2. Water Meter Replacement Item 2a.
