Background The existing 520 Trail through Redmond includes an atgrade crossing of NE 40th Street which requires pedestrians and bicyclists to cross eight lanes of traffic. Both the Redmond Transportation Master Plan and the SR 520 MultiModal Corridor Planning Study identified the need to grade separate the trail and the street to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety and comfort on this important regional trail. Washington States Connecting Washington program has funded this project and it is now ready to begin design. This project will construct an attractive, gradeseparated pedestrian and bike facility for the SR 520 Regional Shared Use Path at the west leg of the NE 40th Street and SR 520 Westbound ramp terminal intersection. Previous plans, some utilities, tentative allowed lane closure, and other related information are posted on Redmond.gov/PWBids
