Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work shall consist of providing tractor(s) with operator and mowing attachments to be used for mowing roadsides on the State highway systems (interstate and non-interstate). Mowers shall have the ability to operate on steep slopes and/or to mow on the back side of guardrail sections. Contractors may propose one or both types of mowers (regular and over the rail). The Contractor shall provide suitable equipment to accomplish at least 15 to 20 acres of roadside mowing per day. The Contractor shall provide all work zone signing and adhere to the following policy on Traffic Control for mowing operations: 1. Part 6 (Temporary Traffic Control) of the 2009 Edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)(http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/kno_2009r1r2.htm ) establishes the traffic control standards and guidelines for street and highway maintenance operations.
