Specifications include, but are not limited to: WORK TO BE DONE. Planting consists of locating acceptable microsites according to the requiredspacing intervals (see Table I) and planting seedlings in each acceptable microsite.5.1.1 Seedlings must be planted according to the requirements in the section titled "Planting Methods" inorder to count toward the acceptable range of seedlings per acre.5.2 WORK AREAS. There are six units of initial plant consisting of approximately 108 acres to beplanted. On those acres, Contractor shall plant approximately 32000 seedlings. In addition there are twounits of interplant consisting of approximately 70 acres. On those acres, Contractor shall plantapproximately 16500 seedlings. The Perkins Creek Units are in an area burned in 2013 and portions weresalvaged logged. The slash loading is light in the planting area although some of the trees killed in thefire have started to rot and fall. The Windy Creek Units are clear cuts with light to medium slash. TheQuartz Creek Unit was also burned over in the 2013 fire season and the slash is light. The Quines CreekUnit is a clear cut with light to medium slash.-Some of the planting units have natural surface roads that only allow for vehicle use in the dry season.The units in the Perkins Creek area will require some hiking to get into or the use of an off highwayvehicle for access. The roads are natural surface and only drivable by normal highway vehicles when dry.The unit maps are marked with the end point for highway vehicle traffic. The other units are located onrocked roads with vehicle access to the top and or bottom of each unit.5.2.1 The location of each unit is shown on the attached maps. Specific details for each unit areprovided in Table I. Payment will be according to the acreage shown on Table I. Contractor shouldadjust the bid rate for any apparent difference in acreage planted.5.2.2 State shall determine the order in which units will be planted, depending upon soil condition,weather conditions, available planting stock, and supplies. State reserves the right to specify thelocation, by species, within a unit when multiple species are planted.
