2016 CONCOURSE C ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT. 01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. This project includes removal and replacement of the existing C-Concourse membrane roofing system to limits shown on the project drawings and described in the technical specifications. Work includes new flashing, sheet metal, roof drain inserts, modified and expansion joints, replacement and refurbishment of skylights, added ladders and stairs and installation of fall arrest systems. B. The Concourse C roof is made up of many levels and is approximately 82,000_ square feet. The roof includes areas where several parallel runs of pipe are routed and fastened to the roof deck. Only one support at a time may be removed while roofing material is installed beneath these pipes. C. The approved roofing subcontractor shall provide a bidder designed roofing system fully warrantable under the terms of Specification Section 07 50 00 Single Ply Roofing. Standard roofing details are provided in the Contract Documents which shall be applied when acceptable and compatible with the manufacturer's product. Special details shall be generated by the Contractor/roofing system designer when necessary to match or replicate existing conditions not shown in standard details. D. The Contractor shall prevent building air intakes from drawing in fumes or discernable odors from any roof construction chemicals by providing protective shrouding and other means necessary around the air intake(s) to allow operation of HVAC for the terminal. Locations of air intakes are noted on the project plans. IF FUMES OR DISCERNABLE ODORS ARE DETECTED FROM THE BUILDING INTERIOR, WORK WITH ROOF CONSTRUCTION CHEMICALS SHALL BE PERFORMED AT NIGHT. E.The following milestones pertain to this project and have associated liquidateddamages associated with them. See Document 00 80 00 SupplementaryConditions. 1.Milestone 1: Contractor must achieve Partial Substantial Completion of theWork associated with installation of the flashing and membrane roofingsystem within 143 days of Contract Execution. This includes finalinspection and acceptance for warrantability by the roofing systemmanufacturer's representative. 2.Milestone 2: Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion within 173days of the Contract Execution Date. 3.Milestone 3: Contractor shall achieve Physical Completion within 45calendar days of Substantial Completion No additional specifications were given.
