Specifications include, but are not limited to:SPECIFICATIONS5.1 INTENT: It is the intent and purpose of these specifications to describe the minimum requirements for a rubber tire loader that will be used at the York County Transfer Station. These specifications are intended to assure that all bids will cover machines of similar design and capacity.5.2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The loader shall be new, unused and a current production model. It also shall be the manufacturer's standard model complete with all standard equipment.5.3 ENGINE: The engine shall be a Tier 4 Final, 6-cylinder inline diesel, water-cooled, minimum 225 net flywheel horsepower with a 55 amp alternator and a 12 or 24-volt electrical system. An SCR(Selective Catalyst Reduction) exhaust system shall be provided.5.4 WEIGHT: The loader shall be a minimum 40,000 lbs. The loader weight shall be based on having a 4.0 cubic yard bucket with bolt on edge, 23.5 x 25, two star radial tires, cab, 175 # operator, full fuel tank and maximum factory counterweight.5.5 OPERATING CAPACITY: The operating capacity shall be a minimum full turn tipping load of 24,000 lbs.5.6 TRANSMISSION: The transmission shall be a power shift with torque converter, 4-speeds forward and 3-speeds reverse. There also shall be speed and direction controls on the loaders lever.5.7 BRAKES: The brakes shall be 4-wheel enclosed wetdisc type, or approved equal.5.8 FINAL DRIVES: The final drives shall be a planetary design. Both axles shall be equipped with limited slip or hydraulic locks. There shall be a heavy duty design axle oil cooler.5.9 BUCKETS: The loader shall have a hydraulic quick coupler system (American Coupler System, pro series 2000 compatible with attachment #MM, Serial # 1APS6456) for changing attachments from the operating seat.5.10 A general-purpose 5-yd bucket with bolt on SETCO rubber edge shall be provided. The bolt hole pattern shall match the existing buckets currently being used by York County. Additionally, the loader shall have an automatic return to dig feature.5.11 TIRES: 23.5 x R25, two star, radial tires shall be furnished.5.12 VANDALISM: The loader shall have a vandalism protection system. The engine side panels shall be fully enclosed with locks. There shall be lockable caps on the fuel tank, hydraulic tank, radiator, engine oil, and transmission oil that are all keyed alike.5.13 WORKING LIGHTS: There shall be a minimum, two front and two rear lights, to include stoplights, tail lights, turn signals, emergency flashers and a 255H8TSL, or approved equal, strobe light mounted on the top of the cab.5.14 SEAT: The seat shall be an air suspension type with a 3 inch seat belt.5.15 CAB: The cab shall be mounted to the rear of unit and have a roll over protection structure (ROPS). There also shall be factory installed air conditioning, heater and defroster, safety glass in all of the windows, front and rear wipers and washers, sound suppression and rear view mirrors.5.16 GAUGES AND WARNING LIGHTS: There shall be an engine oil pressure and water temperature gauges with warning lights and buzzer, and gauges for battery charging, hydraulic temperature, and engine oil temperature. If Electronic Data Monitor (EDM) type monitoring system is used, additional manual type engine oil pressure and water temperature direct read gauges shall be required.5.17 ENGINE SAFETY SYSTEM: The engine shall be equipped with a safety system to warn the operator of low oil pressure or high water temperature and override push button for emergency cranking. Also, the system shall have a secondary alarm horn, which will be audible outside the operator's cab (horn similar to the reverse alarm in decibel range) or low oil pressure, high water temperature de-rating of engine power.5.18 FILTERS: The loader shall contain engine oil, fuel, air (dual element, dry type), hydraulic oil (suction and return), torque converter, transmission filters.5.19 EQUIPMENT: The loader shall be furnished complete with all equipment customarily furnished as standard and all standard safety equipment as required by Federal standards.
